About

The figurative abstract artworks of California artist Brandon Neher oscillate between German Expressionism and Pop Abstraction. His original paintings on canvas are an extensive investigation of space, structure, and balance with modern minimalist influences. Inspired by his upbringing along the picturesque coastline of California, Neher's work is filled with layered references to his upbringing. The combination of physical and subconscious energies results in the shapes and patterns seen in works.

This one-of-a-kind 48-inch square abstract original artwork highlights Neher's fascination with artificial naturalism. Neher used acrylic and oil pastel on canvas to create a uniform grid of 576 squares overlayed with 576 circles. The seemingly random arrangement of the colors on the squares and circles results in a diffuse, undifferentiated overall effect combined with a stimulating detail. The sides of the artwork are painted and it does not require framing. It is wired and ready to hang. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back of the painting. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.

Brandon Neher was born in Burbank, California, in 1983. After studying at Brooks Institute of Photography for 3 years, Neher began creating art professionally. He has completed works of art across mediums as diverse as 16mm film, watercolor, oil, sculpture, charcoal, photography, mixed media collage, and print transfers.

“While I am inspired by many other artists’ work, I am particularly drawn to German expressionist painters. I admire their ability to convey a narrative on canvas. I have always enjoyed making marks on things for as long as I can remember, which has translated into a love of imagery that captures and conveys a feeling which is fleeting, beautiful, and unique to all people. I always consider my images carefully before painting them, and layer color in a way that hopefully reminds the eye of things previously seen but casts them in a new light. “

With exhibitions and collectors across the United States, Brandon Neher continues to be inspired by the vibrant life and landscapes of Southern California. Brandon’s artwork has been featured in television productions such as ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager, HGTV’s Design on a Dime, and NBC’s The Biggest Loser and have been represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles since 2018.
