About
Sergio Valenzuela “Valenz” is a contemporary Guatemalan artist who tells stories with everyday objects, primarily expressing them with graphite and acrylic on canvas. His artworks prominently feature elements such as chairs, ladders, and beds. These recognizable structures serve as a way for the artist to signify the opportunities, growth, and dreams we all carry as individuals.
This 9-inch high by 7-inch wide original artwork is created with ink and watercolor and mounted on a 1/4-inch thick canvas board. Framing of this artwork is recommended. It is signed on the front. Affordable Continental US and global shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued is included.
Valenz was born in Guatemala in 1970. He graduated from Universidad Galileo de Guatemala with a major in Communications with a concentration in Education. He is a graphic designer, creative director, and publicist, as well as a professor, teaching university courses on creativity, advertising, and graphic design at his alma mater.
His first group show was at the Bienal de Arte Paiz, Guatemala City, in 1992. Since that time Valenz has been featured in over eighty group shows and thirty solo exhibitions in South America and around the world. Among numerous recognitions and awards, he was selected as the winner of the “Young Artist” award in 2005 and granted a scholarship to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Valen. His works are exhibited in the French Allegiance of Guatemala, Forma Museum of El Salvador, and private collections in Guatemala, Central America, Europe, Mexico, and the United States of America.

Sergio Valenzuela
Sergio Valenzuela, born in 1970 in Guatemala, is a multi-talented artist, creative director, and educator with a passion for exploring the intersection of graphic design and fine art. With a major in Communications and a concentration in Education from the prestigious Universidad Galileo de Guatemala, Valenzuela is also a professor, teaching university courses on creativity, advertising, and graphic design at his alma mater.
Valenzuela's impressive artistic career spans over three decades and has earned him global recognition with over 80 group shows and 30 solo exhibitions across South America and around the world. Among numerous recognitions and awards, he was selected as the winner of the “Young Artist” award in 2005, and granted a scholarship to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. Since then, his works have been showcased in prominent institutions such as the French Allegiance of Guatemala, Forma Museum of El Salvador, and in private collections across Guatemala, Central America, Europe, Mexico, and the United States of America.
